Review: Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner

Hello peeps! Hope you all doing well! As promised in my beauty haul and my most recent face of the day today's post will be a review on the They're Real Push Up Liner by Benefit launching this Friday, June 27th. I was one of the lucky people who were able to grab this product, last week, during a presale here in Germany.

Before we get into the review and my opinion on it let's just make sure I mention all the details: This product is going to retail for €24.99 in Germany, £18.50 in the UK, $24 in the US and it contains 1.4 grams of the actual product. It is a gel based eyeliner in a pen form which is completely new and took them about four years to create. According to Benefit it's a lash-hugging gel liner pen with an AccueFlex tip which is supposed to give you just as much flexibility as a brush and 91% said it's long-wearing, 81% said it's waterproof, 88% said it hugged the lashline and 84% said their eyes looked visibly larger.

Now onto the fun stuff, do I like this product or not? I LOVE it, although I have to admit I struggled a bit when applying it for the first time but as soon as I got used to it, I started loving it. It's super black and matte which helps to intensify the look. It's super long-wearing (it lasted for more than 12 hours on me without smudging, fading or flaking whatsoever) and with the the help of the AccueFlex tip you can get really close to the lashline. It felt a little wired at first but like I said you just have to get used to it. Also from my experience, when trying to take this bad-boy off, it really is waterproof. I had some swatches on my hand and tried it with water, didn't work, tried it with soap, didn't work, tried it with makeup wipes, didn't work. The only thing that got it off was some olive oil. Now I wouldn't advise using olive oil to remove your eye makeup, so I'd suggest buying the They're Real Remover which I personally haven't tried yet but I heard it works wonders, or a good cleansing balm (I used the 'Take The Day Off' balm by Clinique and it worked fine). The only two cons I noticed were that it dried really quickly which doesn't give you much time to work with or fix it when you made any errors. The other thing was that for some reason I couldn't get a sleek line on the inner part of my eye. I don't know what I do wrong but it always ends up looking wobbly if you know what I mean. I guess it's just the shape of my eye but I'm sure the more time I have to work with it the better I will be able to apply it.

All in all this is a great product and worth a try. If you're not into the standard way (gel pot and a brush) you might wanna try this and it could change your mind. If you're not used to using a gel formula for your liner I'd suggest going to a counter near you and ask one of the makeup artists to show you how to apply it and try it yourself. I know most of the counters here in Germany will allow you try it on the spot and see whether that product suits your 'needs'. ;) xo, Marie
