How To Detox Your Mind

Hi lovelies! Last week I uploaded a post telling you all about the changes I'm going to be making not just on my blog but also in my life. And, for me, the first step in changing something in your life is to detox your mind. 

My life is pretty crazy at the moment. I'm about to move out of my parents' house (tomorrow!), I'm starting uni on Monday and I'm going to be meeting loads of new people which is something that always stresses me out. All things that block my mind. I can't think straight and I'm struggeling to fall asleep at night which is why I think it is definitely time to change something. So today I'm going to be sharing my tips on how to detox you mind.

1. Me Time
For most of us life is a mixture of stressing about the things we have to get done and making sure everyone around you is happy. We spend so much time in Go! mode that we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves. But 'our body is our temple' - it's as simple as that! Listen to music, read a book, catch up on some sleep, take a hot bath, it doesn't matter what you do as long as you take some time to take care of yourself. Relaxing is key.

2. Write down your thoughts and feelings 
I'm sure all of us know how it feels like to lie in bed ready to sleep but our brain just wont shut off! Well, that's because your mind didn't have the chance to properly deal with your thoughts and emotions yet. Some people, including me, find it really hard to deal with emotions but life can get pretty overwhelming at times and if we don't allow our emotions to work their way out of our body we end up in situations like this, or even worse. So make sure to take some time to properly deal with your thoughts and feelings because once it written down it's out of your mind. 

3. Have a clear out 
So simple, yet so affective. Getting rid of the things you don't need is a great way to free your mind. When you have trouble thinking straight the last thing you need are piles of clothes lying around in your room. Just think about it, it all comes down to making room for something new. New beginnings, new friendships or even new clothes.

4. Let go of toxic people
Why would you want to spend your precious time with people who always take from you, who judge you or who constantly bring you down? This is your life, your own happiness is what should matter the most to you. And in order to be happy you need to surround yourself with people who support you no matter what. Having a small group of real friends, who love you for who you are, is so much more valuable than a large group of friends who grab every opportunity to bring you down. Saying goodbye to someone is always hard but don't forget detoxing your life is about you and it will be worth it.

5. Set yourself new goals or adjust your old ones 
After all that detoxing you'll feel very optimistic, positiv and ready to get back into the swing of things. All you've been worrying about is gone and you have a clear mind on whats to come. That sounds to my like the perfect moment to set yourself new goals, doesn't it? It doesn't have to big maybe it's just a habit you want to get rid of (worrying too much - for example) or something small you want to achieve, just tell yourself 'it's possible'. You'll feel much better about youself, trust me.
