Monthly Favourites: October 2014

MAC Soar, MAC Patisserie, MAC Angel, Kiko Cream Shadow in No. 05, Kiko Eyeshadow in No. 04, Benefit High Beam Highlighter

Hello there beauties! It's favourites time again and this time I actually have quite a lot to go through. Can you believe it's already November? I love that it's proper autumn now and with Halloween behind us we (or I) can finally get get excited for the holidays. Not that I haven't already shown my excitement on Twitter and Instagram. Anyways, let's get on with the favourites. Brace yourselves, it's gonna be a long one.

MAC Pro Palette: Okay you're probably thinking why would I put an empty palette as a favourite but just the fact that I finally have one makes me really happy. I could never quite decide whether to get one or not because counting it all together - it is very expensive but I figured I don't have to buy them all at once and as a proper makeup addict I feel it's only right to have a MAC palette.

Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow (no. 05): Such a pretty dark pinkish-plum, perfect for autumn. I love applying it all over the lid with some Limit and Nooner (Naked 3) blended through the crease.

Kiko Colour Sphere Eyeshadow (no. 04): With the holiday coming up I'm on the hunt for the perfect gold eyeshadow and this one is pretty amazing! I just love Kiko eyeshadows in general! They are so pigmented, easy to work with and affordable. You can't really go wrong with them.

Kylie Jenner'esk Lip Combo: As much as I love wearing a bold lip I've been desperately trying to find that 90's nude Kylie Jenner inspired lip combo that everybody seems to be obsessed with at the moment and I think I finally found one. The main colour of the lip is MACs' lipliner in Soar which is this beautiful dark pinkish-brown. I usually overdraw my lips the tiniest bit and then fill it in with the lip liner for a matte finish. I then take MACs' Patisserie and apply it to the centre of my lips to highlight them and make them look a bit fuller. So you could just leave it like that but I like to take a little bit of MACs' Angel on a small lip brush and apply on top of Patisserie for some extra glam. I just love how glamorous it looks without being too much.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion (no. 02): If you've read some of my tags (click HERE) you'll probably know that I really struggle to keep up an actual cleansing routine. There's not really a reason for that I'm just too lazy most of the times. But last month I made it my mission to find a routine that works for me and stick with it. And even though I haven't really found a great cleanser (any recommendations?) I found a toner that works wonders. Whenever I have a breakout I feel like using this makes it clear up a lot faster.

Benefit High Beam: A cult classic and literally the perfect liquid highlighter for my complexion. I love how versatile it is. You can mix it in with a matte foundation to give you an overall luminous look or apply it on top of your foundation for subtle highlight or underneath a powder highlighter to make it pop a little more. I just love it!

Christina Aguilera Perfume: Even though I can't actually remember the name of this (all I know is that it's the first one she launched) it probably is my favourite perfume ever. Now I'm not going to embarrass myself trying to explain the smell of this but it is just amazing. It brings back so many great memories.

How To Get Away With Murder: When I saw the series trailer back in August I knew I this would be my new obsession! Sonda Rhimes really knows how to make great TV. It's really hard to describe because there is so much going on at the moment but it's basically a series about law students who work for a really badass defence lawyer and she is teaching them all the tricks they need to know. It might sound pretty boring (I don't want to give anything away) but don't let my explanation fool you. You can watch the trailer HERE and see for yourself.

This is what I've been loving recently - what are your favourites? xo, Marie
