Memories In A Bottle

Hi loves! I hope you all are doing well. When I was sitting at my vanity today thinking about possible blog post topics, I started looking at my very small but precious perfume collection and suddenly had one throwback after another. Then it came to my why do a random perfume collection post when most of the time perfumes are more than just a scent you like to wear. They can bring back so many amazing memories and set you back to the times when you were the most happy. An amazing summer holiday or an exciting event for example. I like to go back and forth between the perfumes I own and I don't know about you but whenever I put on a scent in the morning I instantly think about the adventures I link to it and it brings a smile to my face. Which is why I like to call these little beauties - memories in a bottle.

So on today's post I would not only like to share my top three scents I have in my collection with you and try to explain their scent (which could go horribly wrong) but also like to let you in on some of the memories I link to these perfumes.

The original Christina Aguilera perfume and I go way back. I'm actually not sure what the real name of the beauty is, I just know it's the first one the brought out so I'm just going to call it the original. According to the box the scent is made of mandarin, peach and blueberry in the top notes and jasmine, peony, ripe plum and vanilla in the base. I would describe the scent as a very feminine and sexy. I first bought this back in 2012 when I went to London for my first internship abroad and wore it throughout the whole trip which is why this has been my absolute favourite ever since. I don't know  why but whenever I put this on I feel and instant boost of happiness. I have to admit before I went to London I wasn't the biggest fan of the UK but spending so much time there on my own only meeting people I've never seen or talked to before, completely changed my mind. Thinking about it makes me realize that during this time I was at my happiest. It wasn't necessarily because of adventures or anything it was more the adventure itself combined with the little things such a people smiling at you,  helping you to find your way around a new city, the nice staff in the shops, the people I met and the friendships I built. Now when I go back and visit London I always make sure I buy a small bottle beforehand so I can wear it during the visit.

Such a great perfume. The description says it contains fresh pink grapefruit and passion fruit and tiger orchid in the top notes and patchouli and gourmand raspberry in the base and I would totally agree. Overall it is a very fruity, sexy and pretty strong scent just like the name suggests. But believe me very little goes a long way, you don't want to overdo it. It may be more on the expensive side but I think it's totally worth it. I bought for my 20th birthday when I was living with my best friend in Munich doing an internship at Sony Music Germany. So this scent not only brings back the memories of an amazing internship but also all the adventures I shared with my best friend one more hilarious than the other. Putting it on makes me smile and kind of shake my head at the rubbish we talked sometimes when the spend . But this is why I love her so much. Even though we don't see each other nearly as often as we would like we've been friends for a long time now and I'm sure she will be there forever.

The scent that seems to be an oldie but a goodie and everyones favourite. I don't know what it is about this perfume but whenever I wear it most of the people I know go 'oh is think Lancome, god I love this one'. And I do too. My dad bought it for my while he was on holiday last year and it truly is a great scent. It's created with orange blossoms and jasmine in the heart and tonka bean, praline, patchouli and vanilla. When you first put it on it smells fruity and sweet but when it goes to the base it smells vanilla-ish and quite floral. It's not like my usual scent but for some reason I love it. I've worn it on multiple occasions such as my summer holiday in Spain, the first day at university and on New Year's Eve. And besides that it's my best friends' favourite scent and she wears it all the time, so it also reminds me of her. To me this scent stands for friendships, holidays and fun. It is also a little more expensive but totally worth it.

There you go these are my top three favourite scents and some of the memories they bring back. I hope you liked this post as much as I loved creating it. If you would like to hear about my other perfumes and there memories or wanna know more about the memories I shared today, just let my know. Hope you all are having a great weekend! xo, Marie
